OCTOBER 2012
Dear Friend:
The energy of the month of October is overall very strong and has the possibility of moving us towards accomplishment, although at the same time that it can move us toward accomplishment, events of this time have the probability of moving us toward world-wide conflict.
We will most likely experience October as a month of tremendous highs and lows, peaks and valleys, feeling extremely energetic one minute and wanting to take a nap the next. I recommend that as much as possible, flow with that energy. Use the time when you’re feeling energetic to take care of those things that you have been neglecting (such as catching up with friendships, cleaning out those closets that have become cluttered, etc.). When we’re not feeling energetic, it’s really a waste of time to try to accomplish anything. We will usually end up having to do it over again because we won’t be pleased with the quality of our work as the result of our efforts. I’m just saying to you that we will accomplish much more if we just flow with the energy. Take that nap, and then when you feel rested, get up and go for it. Rest when your body calls for rest, and move when your body calls for movement. You can accomplish much more in this.
A lot of people are coming to me in this time because they feel frustrated; they feel as though they can’t make their life work the way they want it to. I have said to them, as I am saying to you now, that whenever life ceases to “work for us”, it is because we are struggling against our Soul’s intention. Most people are so terrified of change. It’s really important for us to all realize that life ischange. Life is a series of choices and then actions that we take as a result of those choices and then living with the consequences of the choices we have made and the actions we have taken. There is no way that we can live in this world without experiencing change, especially in this time of universal transition.
What does “universal transition” mean? It means we are in a time in which the world is changing. It is changing so rapidly and dramatically and we as a gathering of Souls who inhabit this world have entered into a time in which change is demanded; change is the by-word of this time. And as we are witnessing more and more each day, change is born of chaos and travail in most cases. It’s born of chaos and travail because people fear change. They believe that the way their world is is the right way for it to be, and that any other way of being must therefore be wrong.
I see and clearly understand the benefits of the experiences of this time and of the events I am foreseeing. I feel trepidation for my children and grandchildren, because I know that they will be living through times during which the world is going to be experiencing massive warfare that is necessary to bring us to world peace. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a war monger. I don’t wish for or want war. I just know that it is inevitable.
I’m saying that we must stop being afraid of change, because as long as we are afraid of change, fear holds all the power. Most people, when they feel a twinge of fear, just decide to find a way to distract themselves. They’ll play video games, watch television, maybe go to the movies or invite a friend to come over to have a beer and “light” conversation. They’ll do anything to keep from having to think, because thinking brings us back to the realization of what is.
As I said, there is a great amount of fear being generated by the changes that are taking place in the world, and those changes are affecting every part of our lives. Some of the changes are creating very strong feelings and reactions in many people, some of which lead to hostility which can then erupt into violence. It’s extremely important to stay out of reactive energy - reactive energy can literally destroy long-standing and valuable relationships due to conflict in beliefs.
Change is happening, and we cannot and should not try to stop it. It is part of the intention of this time. However, we must assess ourselves and what we believe to be true, and we must be willing to stand strong in the defense of the truth that is known not by our minds, but in our Souls.
On the first day of any class that I begin to teach, I always say to my students, “I am not here to teach you anything new. I am here to remind you what you already know. If anything I or any other teachers says to you fails to ring the Bell of Truth in your being, then do not accept it.” There are many things that I taught twenty or thirty years ago that I no longer accept as truth because I have learned that at that time, I only comprehended a small particle of the truth; since then, I have gained more of it so that I have a greater understanding, a larger portion of the truth now. People have said to me, “I need a teacher who can teach me at a deeper level than you are taking me, I don’t feel the Bell of Truth.” I haven’t heard those words from anyone in a long time, thank God, but I will tell you that there are so many beliefs in the world that others fanatically hold to that feel absolutely untrue or wrong to me that I cannot accept those beliefs, because they do not ring the Bell of Truth in me. However, I will never tell a person what they should believe; instead, I tell them what I have experienced and what I believe as a result of my experiences.
We all have a deep knowing within ourselves of what truth really is. There are many young souls in this world who seek admiration, social position, wealth, respect and are willing to ascribe to any belief that is required of them to be able to get what they need from whatever group of people they belong to. If their motive is greed or respect or any of the pre-named intentions, they have a knowing in their being that they are not following truth. They have a knowing in their being that they are seeking admiration (or whatever) rather than striving to develop a true and deep relationship with Spirit. I use the word “Spirit” rather than speaking of Jesus or God by any particular name because I teach and speak to people from many different religions, and I truly believe that any person who has a true and deep desire to be in close association with Spirit simply needs to be willing to live a life of integrity and have the desire to be in intimate and close relationship with Spirit.
There is only one requirement in this world for a Soul’s growth, and that requirement is that we seek to increase the quality of our own beings, our own Souls. We accomplish the growth or the improvement of a quality of our own Souls through honoring others. Honoring of others is the planting of the seed. Once we honor, then from that seed that we have planted - through either acts or attitudes or perhaps a smile that gives evidence of honor or respect or caring - grows the consequences of the planting of that seed; the results of the planting of that seed creates what our life becomes.
The seed can be planted by a word, a glance, by the honoring of another in any way; or, it can be planted by failing to meet an obligation which dishonors another, for we plant some seeds that develop us into souls of integrity, filled with Spirit; or we plant seeds that develop us into Souls lacking integrity and void of Spirit. If we just consider that the seeds we plant are simple smiles, are simple acts of recognizing the value of another being – that’s all they are, and they are so important. I cannot begin to tell you the importance of coming to realize that that which you become in this world grows from the seeds that you plant, the seeds of honor or the seeds of dishonor. They become the essence of our lives, and they bring to us the consequences of our lives.
Once we realize this, then we must also realize that everything that happens in our lives - all that is our lives - is the result of actions or attitudes that have reflected honor or dishonor that we have offered to others. So, I’m telling you that by honoring your mother, your father, your friend or a complete stranger, you are creating your life. And, I am also telling you that by dishonoring ay of those people, you are also creating what your life is.
No matter what happens in the world, our lives will be secure as we live in partnership with Spirit and in integrity with each other; or they can be very difficult as when we dishonor, because when we dishonor, we are giving evidence that we truly do not believe that Spirit affects our lives, nor that our behavior, our attitude or actions of respect or disrespect to another has consequences.
These next years are not going to be easy for any of us. However, those who strive to live in integrity with each other and in partnership with Spirit will be grateful and will move forward into a harmonious and peaceful world. Those who live without Spirit and seek to empower themselves over others will be unable to move into that time of peace and harmony, for the one true change that must happen in this time is that all souls who wish to move forward must learn to live in harmony with each other and in partnership with Spirit. That’s the secret. It’s the only secret. It’s really not that hard to do, although there is not a one of us who will live in these times without sometimes being in reaction to the intensity and the pain of the events of these times. It won’t be easy, but it will result in a wonderful world that is secure: a world where there will be no need for prisons, we’ll have no need to lock our doors, a handshake will once again be a contract, and where all we need to do is look into the eyes of another man to know they are speaking Truth, for any word that is not Truth will not ring the Bell within us.
I thought I’d end this newsletter with something else Samuel said in his “Disneyland” analogy because for me, it is the Essence of why we are here….
“All of this life is the reaction to experiences that you designed before you entered. The story is written. Ah, the ride exists......ah, the fires are going! Ah, the cannon balls are splashing in the water by your boat - designed to go right past your nose! Aye. Your soul knows what is around the next bend on this ride. It knows. You dream it before you get there. What the soul does not know is how you’re going to react to it.
The test, the task - for you’ll take the same wild ride over and over again - is to learn to react to the experience that you create in the trueness of Spirit, desiring, desiring, from your soul, to be in harmony in yourself and all other beings in God. As you come to that, ah.....there is no more fear of the ride, for you know that you can trust.
It is all a great drama…..it is a great and beautiful drama.”
